CES 2023 - Into the Future

Consumer Electronics Show is a trade show that facilitates OEMs & other brands to showcase and launch their new products and concepts to the public. CES 2022 has introduced most futuristic concepts to the world. Is CES 2023 is on these similar lines? The new launches has not disappointed consumers. Here are few technologies that will change the way consumers experience the products in near future.


BMW's 'Dee' Color Changing Car

Last year in CES'22 BMW has unveiled its first color changing concept car to the world. In CES'23 BMW has launched its latest concept electric midsized sports sedan i Vision Dee (Digital Emotional Experience) which is covered in futuristic panel that can change its colors on demand.

BMW claims the car can change 32 different solid exterior colors with mix & match capability due to its 240-panel segments which is a significant leap from last year concept which could only alternate between black, white, and grey.

A Self-driven Stroller

Meet Ella, an innovative AI-powered and smart self-driven stroller invented by GluxKind Technologies. This smart stroller uses machine learning and robotics to improve safety and comfort to just make today's parent's lives a bit easier.

This stroller features push assist, hands-free cruising, brake assist, and auto parking. It is equipped with a dual-motor drive system that helps get it up steep roads or sidewalks and on bumpy paths even when loaded with toys or groceries, much in the way pedal-assist electric bikes can tackle difficult terrain.
A Smart Stroller for Modern Parents
Ella also alerts the person who is pushing it when encountering obstacles or dangers. With its Advanced Driver Assist System, it can drive itself, saving parents from the hassle of pushing the stroller. Ella can also sense the distance to the pusher and will apply the automatic brakes if you lag behind.

Accessibility Controller Kit for PS5

Sony unveils new Project Leonardo. the controller kit with an out-of-the-box experience, with swappable parts and a range of software options.

The new controller is designed to help players with disabilities play “easily, more comfortably, and for longer periods.” Project Leonardo comes with a button mapping feature, including the ability to map multiple buttons to the same function. “players can map two functions (like ‘R2' + ‘L2') onto the same button”. Players can store their programmed button settings as profiles up to three can be saved for easy selection when switching between game types.

Android to Join the Race of Satellite-based Texting

Qualcomm announced Snapdragon Satellite which will allow you to send two-way text messaging using satellite. The mobile chip maker will bring satellite messaging to next-generation premium Android phones.

Qualcomm claims that you will have to aim the phone to the sky to send or receive text messaging. However, unlike Apple, you can send text messages to anyone not only emergency services.

Sony announces its EV car ‘Afeela’ 

Sony is teaming up with Honda to enter the electric car market with a brand called Afeela. The Afeela has an actual display built into the front bumper, which can be used to provide information to passing cars and pedestrians.

Sony is also partnering with Qualcomm to leverage its new processor Snapdragon Ride Flex SoC, which can handle both driving and cockpit functions. Afeela will be equipped with 40 sensors and will use "Unreal Engine", a 3D creation tool from Epic games.

Hands-free Connected Home Urine Lab

Withings has launched a new connected product in the space of personal health tech. U-Scan is the hands-free at-home urine lab, which provides an immediate snapshot of the body's balance.

It tracks 100 biomarkers for monitoring menstrual cycles and hormone levels or hydration and nutrition using customizable cartridges, sending all the data to the Health Mate app.

LG's First Transparent OLED T TV

LG has unveiled its latest product in its lifestyle segment, the Transparent OLED which can set itself apart from conventional TVs and can be placed virtually anywhere even at the front of a window or in the middle of the living room.

LG showed off its TV becoming transparent so that people living in an apartment could watch a fireworks display from the window behind their TV. LG claimed in its press event "It will give you new viewing experiences such as a virtual aquarium, a soothing calm rainstorm, or anything an artist... can imagine".
