Qualcomm's killer Flagship Processor - Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 Specs and Benchmarking

Qualcomm has launched its latest flagship process earlier December. It is the most powerful 5G processor from Qualcomm to its users. Qualcomm launched it in its Snapdragon Tech Summit 2020 as the virtual keynote.


Qualcomm claims this 888 SoC will deliver 25% higher processing power and 25% fastest graphics rendering over last year's Snapdragon 865. This new chipset will be powered with 2021 flagship smartphones includes but not limited to Realme, Xiaomi, OnePlus, VIVO, POCO etc,. 

Snapdragon 888 SoC, a 5nm chipset is designed to provide faster connectivity over 5G, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth. It is coupled with third-generation Snapdragon X60 modem which provides upto 7.5Gbps speed. X60 modem also uses DSS (Dynamic Spectrum Sharing) technology to provide 5G services to all major network worldwide. Snapdragon 888 SoC also coupled with Qualcomm FastConnect 6900 Mobile Connectivity System that brings Wi-Fi 6 at upto 3.6Gbps.



Qualcomm also claims it also provides improved Artificial Intelligence (AI) that comes from sixth-generation Qualcomm AI engine along with all new Qualcomm Hexagon 780 processor.

Specially for mobile gamers, Snapdragon 888 SoC comes along with Snapdragon Elite Gaming that provides highest HDR quality graphic along with desktop level capabilities.


Qualcomm has provided support for LPDDR5 memory at upto 3,200MHz frequency as well as LPDDR4x at upto 2,133MHz along with a density of upto 16GB. Snapdragon 888 SoC supports upto 4K display at 60Hz or QHD+ at 144Hz.
Snapdragon 888SoC scored 735439 points on AnTu Tu benchmarking, while it scored 1135 on Geekbench on single-core. The exact rating and performance can be reviewed once the processor comes into market.
